Branding in action draws customers to your organization, to your products and services, without conscious thought or question on their part.
Everything you do or don’t do carries a promise to your customers. This is branding.
Branding is simply your image and your reputation, built on everything that you did or did not do, promised or did not promise. This is why you can never not brand, for even if you don’t control it, you will be branded.
It is also the promise you hold up to your own employees: this is what we stand for and this is how-we-do-things-here. This is internal branding. Internal branding is how you excite your employees and secure their commitment to deliver on the promise you make to customers.
Here are some simple steps to follow to maximise your branding potential..

1:Make your logo synonymous with your business - have it appear wherever possible

2:Be consistent. If there is an advertising line with your logo, always use it

3:Keep your brand visible always. The more you reinforce your brand identity, the more memorable it becomes. Get your brand out there whenever possible - on your company vehicles, on each page of your web site, and on the products themselves

While the economic climate has changed there is no need to lower your performance expectations. If you set your goals high anything is possible. Right now it is about being smart. Review all your costs, look to get more value out of your suppliers and strategically look to expand your business. This is a time to position your business for the future. Effective Branding is a key component to making this possible.

The ultimate advertising for this store is its location. On the corner position on one of christchurch’s busiest streets, hundreds of people drive by each day, so standing out is a must! The aim of the design was to create bold, contrasting signs, keeping the original “floor store” blue.

Solution: The store fit-out was based on the client’s existing branding, using it to contrast against grey. The effect is the bright blue standing out in a duller background which has made the building hard to miss. 3D Profile cut lettering was mounted along the top of each side of the building and digital imaging inside the windows. As you can see in our photo’s, the signage brings this building to life and has made it look very sharp!

We were recently asked to complete yet another Coffee Culture fit-out at the Bush Inn centre. Again, we used the comforting digital prints to warm the store, but had a few other ideas to make this café unique to the others.

Solution: We used many different techniques to out-fit the store, applying frosted crystal graphics to the windows, hanging a digitally printed matte menu board, supplying a stained wooden footpath sign, right down to supplying small digitally printed decals for the muffin trays. One digital print, of 5 coffee beans, was framed (top & bottom) with stained red glass to set the picture off. This print was block-mounted and bought one who wall of the café to life, looking stunning. Topped off with an outdoor Coffee Culture light box, and a billboard on the side, the place looks great.

Foodstuffs supplied us with a completed design concept for their pilot 'On the Sport Express' store

Client Brief: Foodstuffs supplied us with a completed design concept for their pilot On the Spot Express store. Our team worked to produce and install a new fit-out for each store, inside and out.

Solution: We have recently completed 7 OTS store fit-outs which are looking to lead on to many more.

Internal Signage: Pictogram graphics were run around the top of the walls to correspond with the placement of items in the store to make them easier to find for customers. Graphics were run around the front of the sales counter to match the main signage and help direct customers to where they should pay. A distinctively different branding was used for the coffee area to keep it separate from the rest of the store.

External Signage: For the exterior we reversed the graphics from the internal layout to bring the visual effect of the pictograms to just below eye level to attract the attention of people passing by. As the store is on the corner of a mall walk through plaza, a lightbox was used to great effect in this space. At the courtyard entrance to the mall another lightbox was used along with graphics applied to a mirrored window giving a 2 for 1 affect.

With a new brand, and new signage, the OTS Express stores have a modern, fresh look.

Since 1988, when the triangle Kiwi logo first appeared on various products, Kiwi’s all over New Zealand have shown thier support by promoting it. One of the campaign slogans being ’Every time we buy Kiwi, the whole country benefits,’ and we couldn’t agree more!

The campaign has also created a ‘Kiwi Online Shopping Network’ enabling Kiwis to buy, and sell, kiwi made goods online. All in the one place. Click here to view the Get NZ Made site.
